What is a virus: There are many versions of computer virus' out there. A general description for a computer virus is a program that is placed on a victim's computer in a malicious manner (i.e., without permission from the user.) These programs sometimes replicate themselves exactly or make modified copies that can then make their way onto other computers. This happens from one computer to another, typically by a user sending the computer virus over a network or through a removable media device, such as a flash drive, compact disks or the internet itself.
